  1. Thank you for sharing your experiences and being real! I’m currently wrapping up my four-year stint here and I’m ecstatic to be leaving in the next three weeks!
I would advise those interested in going to truly read up and see what life is like, especially in the “Age of COVID-19!”

  2. Back in the seventies, I met a guy who was just back from a teaching stint in Taiwan. He was a white guy, but he was also 6 ft. 5in. and had bright red, curly hair. He said it almost felt odd to be back where people did not follow him around pointing and laughing. He said sometimes he would just walk quickly, but then it was like leading a parade. He had no plans of returning.

  3. I thought spitting was illegal. Maybe I'm thinking of Singapore. My sister could never go there, she would be booked for murder.
I never knew this about that area, they seem filthy.

  4. Girl, lemme tell you…When you mentioned hair all over the place in the apartment (and no dog) and squatty potties, I woulda been like f*#k that contract! I’m out!✌🏽😃 I’m a germaphobe. China has always been an emphatic NO for me. I don’t care what they payin🤣 I fell out when you said ole girl caught her breakfast from the decorative pond😭🤢

  5. I went on a China trip for 10 days and used a squat toilet once. Traumatized! I’d rather pee on my grown self that do that again. Also, I couldn’t get used to seeing the bottom missing from kids pants and seeing a toddler use the bathroom (#2!!) on the street. Mom didn’t even shield her in a corner! Culture shock.

  6. My heart breaks for Hong Kong. I visited there in 2018 hoping to apply there after my Korean contract ended and shit went down 2019. The world has changed so much in the past three years.

  7. I was offered a job to teach English in China back in 2017. While I really wanted to get the hell out of the USA, something in my spirit didn’t sit right with me going to China. Needless to say, I’m grateful that I didn’t go. China sounds like a huge hell no.

  8. Yes girl not on my bucket list….my husband’s cousin went to China as a teacher exchange program with her school and she died due to lack of water because she was a diabetic…I will never go 👎🏽

  9. Blond hair and blue eyes white people are lauded all over the world. None white countries especially black countries love white people (especially blond hair and blue eyes white people).
