  1. If the water have frog, fish, crayfish, etc. it´s because is a healthy ecosystem… you can swim in it 😉
People pays lots of money to have eco/green/sustainable/nature pools, you (we) have it free and at your door step, free of charge… enjoy😅
    Keep the good work

  2. Hi you guys,…. I sure wish you and your family are safe as well as your homes and friends. We don't see too much in America about what you're going thru but only with youtube can we hear and see what really is going on. I wish for you and your friends safety. It seems that things get narrowed down to what really is important in life!

  3. Great video
Love the river beaches very helpful for people that live in that area, I think the concrete bowl one with the wave machine was more like a holiday park than a river beach
Trees are looking great such a good idea to use wast water to water the trees
    Looking forward to next video
    Thanks for sharing 😁

  4. I think rocca means stone? I've been to another place nearby Lousa in Serpin, it's called Praia Fluvial da Senhora da Graça. It was in the autumn and there was no one else there so I didn't take a bath, but it looked nice. Big green area, outdoor barbecue, trees that give some shade, changing rooms and I think there is a café in the summertime. I was thinking about buying a house in the neighborhood so I wanted to check out the surroundings. Those number one places you went to looked very nice! Very good that you use the grey water for your plants.

  5. Hi Nick & Sarah have been watching the terrible wild fires… please put the name of villages and river beaches in writing as so difficult to remember if only spoken word on the ear . Can you indicate where the fire areas are/ have been. Have trip booked to Portugal and will be in Lousã 3 days.. intention to view property in Fuguiera dos Vinhos /Penela / Serta region.. which village are you close to?..
Thank you for "testing the water," for this episode. .. keep sunscreen on hand. Keep cool and hydrated..😎 warm regards from CT

  6. Hello 🤗 So glad you've been river beaching to survive the 🥵🥵🥵! As apocolyptic as it can lls, it's good you included your footage of the fire along that mountain ridge – it's important to witness 😔. On a happier note, the rivers you visited are very healthy by all the frogs and fish living in them. So glad Sarah's mum and sis got to visit and hope they were able to enjoy your digs despite the 🥵… Zinda and Guy werr lovely to offer them room for their added comfort. Also neat that you got to meet up with Ginny and Zac at a praia fluvial. Love your freezy cold drinks hack 😊👍🏼 and inclusion of your grey water use..

I loved the tour of your grove. The ground is so very clean of anything to encourage any fire. The trees are looking v happy. You've worked very hard on this. And your bench is looking quite smart and good with you both relaxed on it. Exciting stuff to come when your team arrives to work on your guest house 😃.

If you ever want to share pics of cold salads, desserts or drinks featuring fruit from your own trees this summer, that'd be nice too. Cheers 🥰

  7. When we had the big in Australia in 2019 we recycled all our shower, basin , sink grey water and we still lost 11 huge trees… so sad. It is raining now since 2020.. let's hope

  8. Enjoyed your video lovely to see Sarah there with you. The land is looking so very neat & tidy. We have had temperatures in the upper 90’s to over a 100, here in AR. No rain for almost a month, got a little shower Sunday night about one tenth of an inch without our irrigation wells we would lose our crops, looking forward to a break in this heat but I am 75 & as I said before I grew up on a farm & still live on a farm and we have always had times of drought and times of too much rain it’s just the cycle of life. I enjoy all the seasons and am truly blessed to have been a farm girl all my life. Take care, the fires sound very frightening. Stay safe & looking forward to watching more videos.

  9. Hi Nick and Sarah, lovely video. The last praia fluvial that you mentioned Poço Corga. Is pronounced, Poh-sue Corghar (This is how it sounds). The c has a little comma underneath (cedilha) sounds like seh. You'll be fluent in no time.

  10. It seems that you will be going eating frogs for dinner 😂. From Sintra around were been to hot also neither you can go to the countryside everything close for two weeks 😞. Welcome to Portugal enjoy
In relation to fruit trees cut always the branches that start to appear outside of the main trunk because this ones are taking the nutrients from the main trunk

The United Nations recently celebrated the International Mother Earth Day as a reminder to protect the environment. Heat waves, droughts, fires and heavy rains that cause severe flooding have become more frequent in many parts of the world due to climate change, which affects the entire worldwide population.

The Earth is facing a “triple planetary crisis,” warn UN officials. Climate disruption, nature and biodiversity loss, and pollution and waste are the main areas of concern regarding the current state of the environment. This year, the Earth Day’s theme is “Invest In Our Planet,” so what would humanity's best investment for the planet be?

We need to start by cleaning up the planet. There is no place on Earth where the air and water are clean, and that's a real problem. In theory, tackling this issue should be our priority when it comes to taking action to improve the dismal state of our planet. But let’s not fool ourselves. Such a plan alone will solve nothing.

It will only help the international organizations to justify their own existence. They tick off "done" to raise as much money as they want, and that's it. If we do not improve relations between us, we will not be able to achieve the great and ambitious improvement in nature that we want and need to attain globally. We will never achieve a good result through bureaucratic, mechanical measures.

There are a lot of people sitting in their comfortable offices profiting from the environmental crisis and demanding money and respect. They keep flying from one end of the world to the other on all kinds of missions to make a lot of noise with what they are "doing" and which everyone "needs to hear" as if that alone means something is happening, but in practice we see no real progress. The Earth must also be cleansed of them, of these people who engage in useless campaigns that only cause harm because they mislead the world, leading it away from the real solution.

The cleaning of the planet should start inside out. If we do not clean the planet from within, and continue with our reckless behavior and the selfish nature of our hearts as before, nothing will change for the better. The immense sums invested in environmental initiatives should be directed to spreading an educational process aimed at improving the way we relate to each other.

Humans are the most developed and influential factors of all of nature's levels: still, vegetative, animate and human. Since we occupy the highest level in nature, positively affecting the environment, the climate, and nature in general can be achieved by reaching positive relations among us. On the contrary, by letting our divisive drives tear apart human relations, we also destroy our surrounding environment, the very nature that our lives depend on.

The more we humans are able to correct ourselves by changing our divisive attitudes toward each other into positive attitudes of mutual support, encouragement, mutual responsibility, and reciprocal concern, the more we will receive positive feedback from nature. And the more we develop without making this necessary correction, the more negative feedback we will receive from nature, as we have experienced in the form of natural disasters, pandemics.

It is of utmost importance for us to organize our thoughts, desires and qualities so that we understand that saving the environment and a shift to a better future depend solely on changing our attitudes to each other: from antagonistic egoism to positive, compassionate and cooperative relationships.
