The ALGARVE wine scene is alive and well: Portugal WINE tourism is on the rise!

Hi, I’m Nick and I’ve been living in the Algarve, PORTUGAL for over 22 years. I’m discovering the wine farms of the Algarve today with my cousin Chris.

(If you can find some farms that aren’t on the map and that are open to the public, I’d love to hear about it).

  1. I would like to know the varietals and bottle prices. It seems tasting prices are the same as in California, but I think that they all came with food? I liked your comment on prices in the major tourist spots.

  2. Great video, Nick, you always produce interesting and video's of quality. Enjoyed seeing you and Chris together, enjoying life and the wines of the Algarve. I had no idea that Portugal had so many Vineyards! I hope to see more of you and Chris tasting more of the wines of Portugal. Cheers!

  3. Vinho Lagoa was produced and sold only in Algarve. It had a high alcohol content but it was so smooth and delicious that tourists didn't realize how fast and how drunk they would get. We used to take bets on tourists, who was going to drop face on the table first. Between ordering and the food arriving at the table, a group of 4 adults could easily consume one to two bottles of Vinho Lagoa. We evaluated the size of the person and observed how they drunk. The one who won the bet haf a free dinner. The company was bought by a foreign entetprise and they sunk the whole business… On EN 125 you will find the building… so sad!

  4. You bastards i am jealous i have being wanting to to the Algarve for years i would like to get there this year if possible it all depends on how this energy crisis pans out in the UK as a pensioner here i have to watch the pennies.
