You may be looking in the wrong place. England is where you should be looking.
Go back in time when Jesus was crucified and look at ‘who’ was involved with laying Jesus to rest. Barely mentioned in the Bible…Mother Mary’s Uncle, Joseph of Arimathea’, laid Jesus to rest in the tomb he made for himself. Why? Jewish families were responsible for properly laying to rest a family member, which Joseph of Arimathea was. Joseph of Arimathea was considered to be the wealthiest man in the world. He was in the mining business and owned a fleet of ships. He was, also a Sanhedrin. A Sanhedrin is a high position among the Jews. It was the Sanhedrins who wanted Jesus crucified and Pontious Pilot ordered the Crucifixion. When Joseph of Arimathea asked for Jesus’s body, Joseph had revealed his ‘connection’ with Jesus. Now, Joseph’s life was on the line.
Because of Joseph’s high position and deep respect they had for him, they couldn’t bring themselves to crucifying Joseph. Instead, they put him on a ship with others without the necessary parts to steer and control the ship. The intent was to let them die at sea. The ship floated towards France. Some got off at France and Joseph went on to Glastonbury, England where he remained for the rest of his life. Joseph mined in England (Cornwall?). To this day, they sing about Joseph being a miner. I pray to the ‘Joseph of Arimathea’ Icon. The Icon shows Joseph of Arimathea holding the Shroud, and the Cup Jesus drank from. The Glastonbury Thor is in the background. Joseph of Arimathea brought what is now called ‘The Shroud of Turin’ that was used to lay Jesus to rest.
Just to put this thought out there…How did the Templars know exactly where to go in Jerusalem to find the riches? They were from France! France and England were/are geographically very close. Also, some people got off the ‘floating’ ship on the shores of France and Joseph of Arimathea went on to England.
It would be nice if the ‘History’ station would do a segment on ‘The Copper Scroll’ that was found among ‘The Dead Sea Scrolls’ at Qumran where the Essenes were. Jesus and John the Baptist were Essenes and schooled at Qumran. The Copper Scroll was a treasure map made from very expensive copper. The Essenes were pious people and the hidden treasures on expensive copper was anything but pious.
