  1. Dom Manoel II was from a German line of the Portuguese royal house. He was descended from Queen Maria II by her marriage to a prince of Saxony=Coburg. This line was not popular. Had the Portuguese succession remained with the male line of the House of Braganza, there might still ne a Portuguese king today.

Don't Copy this my music video idea. You no good White Englishman and your stooge.

  3. You see. I find it very hard to believe that the king died of a sudden alergic reaction to an unknown substance, at home. It is very strange that this is not an issue for any historian.

  4. It's easy to forget that the King and Crown Prince killed in the attack were Manoel's father and brother. What terrible experience it must have been for him at only 18. For us it's history, but for the family it is a very personal tragedy.

  5. Correction,The British King Shown Was King Edward VII The Seventh,NOT The 5th,And The Prince Of Wales At That Time Would Later Become King As George V,The FATHER Of Edward VIII(The Eighth,And Father Of George VI,And Grandfather Of The Queen,Elizabeth II!!!

  6. There is a fascinating account of Queen Augusta of Portugal in the recently published first volume of the diaries of Chips Channon. He stayed with the Queen in Germany in 1937 and he records her account of living in England during her marriage to King Manoel. On her return to Germany she built herself a villa at Umkirch, calling it 'Twickenham' – and furnished it with all the possessions she had inherited from King Manoel and which were formally at Fulwell.

  7. Manoel II was the last of Portugal's liberal, anticlerical, masonic, royal lineage. We still have our traditional, Catholic, royal lineage, that of King Miguel I. I am a traditional, Catholic, Portuguese, integralist, royalist.

  8. They just wasted the very rich Monarch history that started since 1100 just because every govt wants to follow American style. I dont think being republic or democratic govt will be effective to all countries since there are countries where people are not that hardworking and would always have the crab mentality. Most of the republic countries right now like philippines and Korea, the rich become richer and the poor become poorer.
