Whilst Golden visa may be suitable for people with passports that restrict the countries you can travel to, this is not the case for UK passport holders. Many people sell GVs to UK citizens and the tax benefits are used in the selling process. However, to enjoy tax benefits you need to live away from UK (assume this will be in Portugal). So the main difference between GV and residence based visas (being you dont have to live in PT to have a GV) is negated. Personally, I cannot see a common scenario where a GV is the appropriate solution for a UK citizen, yet UK remains a target market for those with an interest in selling GVs. This video is not targeting UK citizens of course.
Oh wow, I thought these golden visas were on hold pending the EU ruling. No?
💯
Another very addictive video, thanks.
You forgot to tell us about the coffee shop Nick!
From what I’ve read on ExPat Message boards is, while there are many properties available in LDZ’s, the cost of property is so low in these areas that finding one that will cover the required investment is difficult. It’s not like the Northeast part of the US where a single family house starts at US$ 700,000, in a LDZ you can buy 6 or 7 properties for €400,000.
And then you have to worry about the condition of the home, IF you are allowed to rehab it, if you can find someone to rehab it, and if there are materials available and how to get them to your property.
It’s not like the US where you have a Home Depot on every corner.
I can recommend sagres:)
Another Fun yet Addictively Informative video! Thank you for keeping it ReAL Nick. 🙂
