This Brand New PREFAB HOME Wants to be the Tesla of Housing

The Prefab Home market officially has two new companies entering the space. It seems to me people have realized their is a lot of demand for homes built offsite because I can barely keep up with all of the new companies entering the space. The first company is out of Australia called dimension x and plans to model a few of the ways the operate after Tesla. They will be providing a flat pack prefab home that can be ordered online and delivered to site in around 6 weeks. This will be a big improvement over some of the current wait times companies are currently offering because of high demand. The second company is an autonomous powered ADU called Cosmic Buildings that will offer 350 sq ft and 700 sq ft floor plans. I think both of these companies will be a welcome addition to the space giving potential buyers more options to choose from. In this video I look at both of the companies, their homes and the pricing. Watch and find out more about these two new prefab home companies.

  1. Lol. Yeah, EVERY day will feel like a vacation, motel room included. A small, cramped and overpriced room. No privacy and a bathroom so small you have to step into the toilet on your way out of the shower. Just minus the maid and room service. Lol! A smart person would never buy a "beta house". Like all new things, I will wait and see. I would have to get far more for far less money before I would call this a dreamlike idea. Square footage price is roughly what the price of any regular house is. You pay far less because you're getting far less.

It's like selling you half a hamburger for half the price of a whole hamburger. Yeah you're paying less, but you're getting what you're paying for. $190k for a box to live in? There are homeless people living for free in those already. They are saying they want a "real" home. I would suspect you would be saying the same thing within 48 hours of living in one these.

  2. Affordable is not the word I'd use to describe these housing options. As one who's done some construction it looks like someone is out to make a ton of profit from the housing crisis.

  3. Unless you can build a house for under $100 per sq ft , I wouldn’t call it affordable. These little houses are outrageously expensive for what they are. Materials are expensive now, but labor is the major factor in cost of building. Unless you are willing & able to do parts of the build yourself, then don’t expect to get an affordable home.

  4. You sure do good updates on the housing market! You've basically done the shopping for other people. You just present their marketing material and let others decide (although I would appreciate your cautionary opinions as well). These are well-designed new players. Watching their progress will be interesting.

  5. We had a very mild and wet summer on the north coast if Australia this year. We need homes that are well ventilated at the moment as everything goes mildewy very fast at the moment!

  6. Thank you Terry, for keeping us all in the loop with prefab housing options. I love this emerging market and the financial freedom it will afford many who wish to invest in a 2nd home for vacation and rental income ⭐️⭐️⭐️

  7. A stick built home that is built inside under a roof is not really a factory built home. Boxabl is the only company that will be going through production Hell like Tesla did. They actually have a chance at success because of this strategy. Hundreds of prefab companies have already failed, thanks for showing us two more.
Back to Boxabl. They are raising money, but they need about 100x more than what they are showing. Elon please help.

  8. Too expensive. There’s still the cost of Mechanicals and the foundation. And permits, fees, etc. a successful prefab company has to learn to streamline the aforementioned issues for the customer, all on one package. Paying a premium would be warranted if they can do that.

  9. Personally, I can't get "modern" and "cottage" to be synonymous. That's me. I don't appreciate all the NWO references to "Climate Change" and the UN Agenda 21/2030 mantra 'sustainable."
