New here? My name is Lea and I live with my partner Maarten, our toddler Puck and baby Bo on our land in Central Portugal. We left the rat race in the Netherlands in 2018 and moved south in our old campervan. Two years ago we bought land in Portugal that had been abandoned for several decades. After lots of hard work we now live in a beautiful yurt and keep ourselves busy growing our own vegetables as well as producing olive oil, wine and honey on a small scale. This channel documents all the different jobs we have to do, and sometimes some nice footage of this beautiful country we now call home.

  1. It is raining in central illinois usa today. I used the opportunity to work on a project I have wanted to work on for a long while. I read the repair manual for a john deere 550G track loader. I plan to re-cover the seat.
I also bought steel square tube for making a chainsaw mill rail system. Similar to the one that "surviving Ringworm" channel uses.
I bought the same chainsaw as he uses and hope to make lumber.

  2. Oh yummy on the stuffed peppers! Your garden is still doing well! How wonderful. Mine is under a few inches of snow. Did you know that the broccoli leaves are very nutritious? Yes indeedy…..just dry the leaves and powder them up to add to soups…

  3. I'm glad for the extra video AND that you're taking a break..you deserve to get away from it for a bit , it's got to be exhausting at times 😉 ..im excited to see what's to come!! Bo cracks me up when he pops into the picture with that smile🤣😅 . Anyhow, im glad to see you hiking more for your own well being , it helps to clear the mind and re-enter you😌… try to incorporate it into your weekly regimen, a little "forest bathing" is very beneficial 🙂✌️

  4. This rain you speak of, could you possibly send it here? Gladly pay the post, please. I see in the comments mention of a liquid in the pan so steaming the pepper as it cooks. I use tomatoes, stock or even a spot of ketchup in the water. I think any liquid will steam veggie if that would help. Winter seems🐓 dreary for gardener in many, I think.

  5. Thank you for letting us know about January…. It's always a worry when we don't… see ….all is well ! I can relate to the feeling of enough rain..one of those…can't live with it….can't live with out it… kind of things Looking forward to what ever you have planned . Stay well 😊

  6. Hi the couple i follow who are also in southern Portugal have a dog looking for a good home. You might know them ,ken and Gina. Their channel is OK Portugal and it was on one a their vlogs in the last week.

  7. You plant seeds like I do. make a row & throw heaps in. I don't believe in mucking around spacing them out perfectly. Waste of time & effort. They grow however they want to. After years of doing it i don't even bother planting most things these days. At the end of the season I just let it all go to seed then when if dies off I run the strimmer through it all & leave it there. Now every season most of my garden self seeds itself.
