Three more viewings in Castelo Branco, Portugal, plus property search tips

This week, we manage to see three more properties in the Castelo Branco district, although obtaining viewings can be quite a challenge! Which one will we like best? Watch to the end for some tips we have picked up when it comes to searching and viewing property in Portugal.

Who are we?

We’re a family of five from the UK (Layla, Russ and our three children). We sold our house and Russ quit his job so that we can pursue our dream to live a simpler, slower, more sustainable life.

Back in 2018, we decided to buy our beautiful Blossom, a Mercedes Vario ex library bus, to turn into our home on wheels. In March 2021, we finally moved in and set off on our adventures, starting in England, Wales, Ireland and now in Portugal.

  1. Keep looking till you find "the one", no compromises. Write down "the list" as you go searching… The entrance to the property must be big enough for delivery truck to make the turn…..etc. Oh ….it's an exciting journey 😀
Do you know of some Expats in the central region? Like project Portugal? Cindy Vine? Farmers for fun? The Indie project Portugal? Luke and Sarah? They're a very nice group of Expat community very helpful to one another 😀👍

  2. Are you following Joseph Marsh on Farmer for Fun? He is just outside Fundao — is not a realtor but is so well respected by his neighbors they come to him when they have property to sell because they know thru his videos he reaches Brits looking for property. He has an email listed on his About page on Youtube. He has videoed some gorgeous but over grown farms. One keeps popping into my head was a huge cherry farm with abundant water that was not overlooked.

  3. Exciting journey! I like to watch your video's as we are going to search for properties this year too. Hopefully you will find a realy great property there to settle and have a good life.
