Understanding and Using the Portuguese Health System

The Expats Portugal team invites you to join us as we focus on Portugal’s health system.

An area of concern that often arises when moving to a foreign country is getting the right health care, particularly if there may be a language barrier in the way. We are pleased to have Michael from Serenity Care to provide an overview and address any concerns in this interactive Q&A webinar.

Portugal has a public health system as well as many private facilities to choose from. Michael will be available to take your questions on this matter and explain how Serenity can be utilised to provide support, peace of mind and guidance throughout.

This webinar may be of particular interest to those managing existing medical conditions; Serenity Care’s services can also offer personalised help for more complex matters and help you to understand what care options you may have available before you move.

  1. If you are a European Union passport holder (Germany) and are arriving in Portugal, do I only need my passport and the NIS/SNS number to get healthcare. Perhaps I can register with the police office and use this as proof of residency?
