Back in the day and still today it's seriously important for a journalist NOT to become the story. It's the number one rule. It's not about taste or cringe alone. A person lawyer looking to grab the limelight can alter the situation in a damaging way.
The rules about professionalism are in place for good reason. Years of evolution, trial and error and reform went into establishing professional standards we use to this day.
A legit reporter, gets in, gets out and delivers the goods. Drama on the courthouse property with people in line is a PT Barnum sideshow.
Maybe Legal Bytes could have did things differently but working to preserve what is working is good of her. It's good for everyone.
A person is either a journalist or an activist in this situation. A blend of both is something different. Not good, not bad. But absolutely not needed. Not helpful when the objective is to inform and preserve history regarding the Depp – Heard trial. IMO.

Ahead of the verdict, I am of the view that JD is unlikely to win his legal case. Defamation cases are notoriously hard to win both in the UK and in the US. This is due to the legal tests required for a successful claim. The legal thresholds are somewhat similar in both countries. JD already lost the UK case back in 2020. This illustrates that claims of this kind are not as clear cut as they may seem, irrespective of what evidence the public may perceive as important to the case. However, it is clear that he has won over the majority of the public opinion which is likely to be just as important to him, if not more.
Again doesn’t stop the main stream media !

The trial has been so widely reported online not just because he is famous but also because someone has potentially manipulated an important movement by relying on sex and social perspectives for personal gain. Its also been done at the expense of someone else and right in the face of survivors.

Many of those who do find themselves falsely accused are not often privileged enough to argue their case in various forums and do not have a platform big enough to bring this particular issue to light.

Some of the DV claims alleged in the case are (arguably) physically impossible and there is evidence undermining certain events. This has resulted in re-enactment videos being posted across the internet in attempt for social justice however many victims/survivors are being triggered by these videos. We also have some moral responsibility to think about the potential impact of the content we create and share.

Whilst it is so important to believe victims and/or survivors, it is equally important not to pretend to be one. It is so wrong for a person to take the traumatic experiences of others and use them for personal gain (and in attempt to ruin someone). Doing so undermines the credibility and confidence of both current and future survivors.

In my view, the ‘me too’ movement did not intend for us to believe all people (“women”) no matter what. Why should anyone do that if there is evidence to the contrary? It also did not mean that we should never believe men, especially if they are rich or powerful. There is a reason why there is a standard of proof required throughout courts and justice systems. This case is not saying that those subjected to DV should create a catalog of evidence in order to be believed, it’s highlighting a need to consider counter evidence should it exist and question inconsistencies should they also exist.

In my personal view, AH has been dishonest. She has been unnecessarily evasive at best. The evidence supports findings of dishonesty and with dishonesty hopefully comes malice.

Whilst I would like to see her face legal consequences, I worry she will not due to technical legalities. As a human-being I take no pleasure in seeing her being harassed and threatened online though.

That's not jury nulification. Jury nullification is when the jury goes against what the law indicated should be the verdict. For example, say a bus driver collapses and a drunk driver saves almost everyone from going over a cliff, but a few people die, a jury can decide to let him go free even though he may technically be responsible for driving drunk and getting a few people killed.
