  1. I live in Queensland, Australia. We have a community here called Crystal Waters in Maleny. I don’t know about the present time but they have shared their knowledge of environment and community with workshops, internet etc. they interact with the outside community with a bakery and hosting a monthly market. Homes are often mudbrick and strawbale.

  2. I have been binge watching on Project Kamp's videos and was reminded very much of the Tamera community as a model or template to follow. Good to see you visiting Tamera as a part of your research. It also seems quite similar in concept to the kibbutzes in Israel.

  3. Tamera is not very far from me and I visited when we first moved to Portugal. There is a lot of good there but much I disagreed within some of its philosophy. Basically I felt it was a cult and not for me.

  4. After watching this video and knowing what I do know about Permaculture. Tamera has purchased it's permaculture which has allowed them to live a permaculture like lifestyle except for the fact that they are vegan. This is in many ways contrary to Permaculture since it integrates using farm animals into growing food. Not that it bothers me but somewhere they are cheating on their veganism to grow these crops. Which kinda makes them hypocrites. And judging by a few of their videos they seem more like cultists than permaculturalists. I could be wrong.

There is a couple in Costa Rica that has been adapting Permaculture for vegans and they admit to importing manures from other properties. To their credit, they do actually do understand the design principles.

  5. I don't know if this will help since this video is a year old but you mentioned that "Permaculture isn't on the internet much". Factually that statement is partially wrong. Permaculture is all over the internet you just need to know the terminology since not all permaculturalists advertise what they are doing as Permaculture. There are books that you can buy as well.

Here is some terminology for you that might help. Chicken Tractors/ Chicken tractor on steroids, Rotational grazing/ mob grazing, Companion planting, Swales, Rocket stoves, Hugelkultur, no-dig gardens, SuperAdobe, Cob/Strawbale building, cordwood building, rainwater collection, you can pretty much look up permaculture and any farm animal and they will have suggestions for you.

Another reason Permaculture is hard to find is that things that started as Permaculter went mainstream or they borrowed/ adapted from the mainstream. Well, I hope this helps.

  6. 15:13 right, if this project is helping towards a solution for sustainable living why would they not want it to be replicated easily every where in the world, sometimes stating an obvious point need to be said by outsiders

  7. I just love your video about Tamera. So many information, but I dont know what is medium of the age in this community? Is there any special religion ? Thanks for answer .
