Vlogmas #5 Land Update and Garden Tour of our Horta in Central Portugal | Lake and PolyTunnel

Hello everyone, Thank you for finding our channel and spending a little time with us.
In this video we continue to enjoy VlogMas and Elaine shows us the land and the updates that we have made. Our lake is looking fabulous and we also have a compost area.
We hope you enjoy the video.

We are building our online presence and as such will be posting more regular updates, photographs, blog posts, and offering early and ad-free access to our YouTube video’s on our Patreon page. If you would like to join us please find us here..

Alternatively if you would like to buy us a coffee, or a fence post, that would be amazing. We love a coffee, and fence posts, and one day we would love to return the compliment with a coffee, unless you would like a fence post 🙂

We use Ko-Fi as we would like to offer some items in the future, here is the link

  1. Jane & Mike from the Frugal Queen of France recommended your channel highly . The mushroom culture will appreciate darkness not complete but they were originally harvested in caves so a dappled light , they flourish on decaying wood with decaying leaves no walnut which aren’t good for them . Your doing good thanks for sharing .

  2. Living the dream ..of the Good life…well done Margo..your getting the hang of being in front of camera…Soon be Christmas…plenty of Xmas trees 🎄 around there…
I've so many questions…There has to be a lot of practical considerations and trade offs like.
    Have you emigrated
    National Insurance
    Income streams
The house in the UK .rented out.Fall back position
Your outgoings in Portugal. Or taxes local charges.
    Healthcare.
    Heating the house in Portugal
    Having said all of this.
Have you thought of a name for "the land"
Like" The Orchard" A rustic sign post for it. far more descriptive on your videos.
    On a more positive note,
    I apologise I am a practical being
    You have worked miracles
I love the Orchard and the Lake.
I take it your almost Organic.
I'm amazed your planting in Autumn as it's freezing here.
I'm made up your clearly enjoying the satisfaction of seeing progress.
    Your out the rat race.
    The climate is just wonderful
More time to be outside, and be healthy..
    Outdoor gym
I'd certainly think about a couple of storm straps for your green house from a camping store…or anything over the top to hold it down.
Your video editing and honesty and openness is to be applauded.
    Well done you pair…
    AMAZING xx

  3. Lots and lots of food for you to enjoy! We can go some things year round here also. I love not waking up one morning to a hard frost and no more flowers or growing things in the garden! That used to be a very sad day for me. You can raise many kinds of fruit that we can't there as well. We are not able to raise any stone fruits in this climate. So no plums, peaches, necterines, cherries, ect. I live at an altitude of approx. 3,800 ft above sea level. On the side of low mountain range over looking the Pacific Ocean. At sea level it is very hot and humid. At this altitude the temps. Stay in the 70's and 80's farenhite! Usually we have a breeze as well.

  5. I absolutely love the Drone footage & seeing your village & the property from above! It was so nice to see the before & after of the property! Big change in less than 3 months! Elaine I LOVE YOUR BOOTS!!! Here in Nebraska we call them rain boots or on the farms they are “irrigation boots”. Blessings! 💜

  6. Did you say you were needing some straw? Debbie fro Portugal Dreamzzz said they've got some left in their barn that could be useful to someone's garden beds. Not sure how close/far you are to each other tho 🤷🏻‍♀️.

  7. When you mentioned cauliflower 😳 I had visions of wild boar 🐗 Inviting all their friends to a big party 🎉 😂🤣
I pray 🙏 this can be avoided. But a night vision camera could be interesting 📸

    Beijinhos
