It’s a huge week on our renovation project in Portugal, as we start on a project we’ve been dreaming of for months – an off-grid swimming pool – with a couch in it! It takes some serious muscle power but with the help from family from afar we make a start, and finally get around to some up-cycling that we’ve been putting off for ages!
Please make sure you SUBSCRIBE and join us for the adventure.

Thank you guys 🙌🥰loved everything and hello to your family visitors 😍🦘🐨🇦🇺Karen from port Macquarie NSW Australia
hi from Brazil 😘
Crosse is a very happy baby !!
Goodjob
I love the idea of the couch in the pool, but I'm a bit concerned about the size of the broom you're using, John. Is it too big? 😂🤣 Tara, the colour of the chalk paint is perfect! Great choice. 👌 Love from Australia 💞
Как всегда,было очень приятно,наблюдать ,за преобразованиями фермы 👍 Тара все красивее😍
I'm excited to see the end of this it's going to be cool but I also am excited to see what you're going to do about a drain because you need to have some type of draining mechanism so that if you get any pets in there you don't have to live with the best like snakes or anything that likes to swim in water just a thought
Well done Team. As always, gorgeous to watch you all!!… the pool and watermelon real COOL!!… LOVE to you guys…Great you've got help!! ❤ Jenny. Northampton.
Love your channel! Regarding the holes in the furniture: If they're "clean/fresh" there's activity still; If they show dark/old, there's no more activity and the filler should be enough 😉
The chicken enclosure would have been good as a compost box.
I am hoping to see some of those grapevine shaped into a Bush 🌳. Crusoe and the new Baby would have fun picking. I like raspberries and wanted to share that they are very annoying like bamboo because the wind carries the seedlings and fall where they may. We had to put mosquito netting over the whole patch to confine them when the leaves are out (Also the birds). I predict that brilliant little man Crusoe@4yrs.old can handle his own
Go-Pro, adding an extension Channel of The Newbys.💖 That would be my Wish.😍 Go get 'em Crusoe!🙌💖💞
Welcome to my 🇵🇹 my South African guys. Hi Tara, John and Crusoé.
Suggestion: wear good gloves when handling dirty structures! Even the smallest of cuts or scrapes could make your life miserable with a bad infection!! (Sorry-the mother and former nurse in me can’t help herself!)
Question About the pool is it going to be an organic pool or a chlorine pool?
Nice
Love it. You guys are goooooood!
My dad lives in Puerto Rico and many years ago built a pool that fed of the river nearby. Can’t wait to see the final results 😊
Lot of hugs 😍😍😍
A question not asked in your recent question episode… What's the visa situation in Portugal since Brexit? Is it easy to live there?
Just a quick note you must check that whatever is eating the wood has gone as if you take the furniture in the house you could get all wood infested in the house you can buy a liquid that you paint on that kills everything then you carry on to finish however you want 😉
Hi Tara,
When sanding furniture it is always best to wear dust protection so not to inhale chemicals. Also with new wood as that gets treated against insects before you buy it. Take extra care during your pregnancy. All the best, love your video's.
doing an amazing job
That wooden furniture would last for years and years. Back in the days people made high quality furniture. Its clasic and beautiful 👍👌😎
I absolutely love your videos and watching you bring this old property back to life. There is one tiny thing that spoils your videos for me. Please can John hold the camera a little higher so that he doesn't always chop off the top of his head. Hehe.
Groovy!
