This is a mansion that I explored backed in the spring and loved it’s style and architecture! It was completely untouched, not boarded and a gem of a find! The only area of the property that I could not access was the basement because the door was sealed off. This time it was open and full of surprises, including a time capsule of a room!

Those photos that feel like cardboard are from the late 1800's to early 1900's. Others would date around the mid 1920's (children?). Those black and white glossy photos looked to be in the 1930-40's+. Oddly, they never seemed to put the person's name on those old photos, as they were given to family members only, it was assumed they knew the person. I have a lot from my ancestors…

If anyone noticed the circle on the front door, that was most likely for a mechanical doorbell, always thought those were neat. This place was a cool find
Wow this is a gorgeous home and I am really surprised it is empty, I would live in it.
The house probably doesn't meet qualifications for historical status because it's been divided up into separate living quarters.

At 1:17 the huge safe in the basement could indicate that the owner had a lot of business transaction, that involved money. Thus, that could required him to keep whatever money received into the huge safe, prior to handing it over to the bank the next day. I could be wrong, It was just an assumption. But the safe was discreetly located in the basement, away from prying eyes.
It was a lovely looking house, except for the basement which looked uncompleted, cluttered and in a mess. The old unwanted stuff should had been disposed of by the family rather than being kept in the basement to gather dust and was an eyesore. But overall it was a beautiful mansion indeed, albeit the ruin and the human destruction. Thanks Terry.
The newspaper had an ad for a new Volvo priced at $6595. That was around 1975. The good old days of low inflation when everything was affordable….😄 Also that yellow, pink and gold floral vase is worth some $$$. I have an antique piece that matches it that I purchased from an antique store in Palm Springs, CA back in 1994 and it wasn't cheap then. It's probably worth around $200-500 now.

It's such a beautiful house and in such good condition, absolutely wicked to rip it down. Whatever they build in it's place will never be as well built as this one.
The vase is Victorian, not worth much I'm afraid. The lawn bowls look English, don't know if you have them over there.

They look like curling balls, but they do not have the handles and they are very rounded? Very nice solid old house with real wood on doors, skirting, door frame and I expect the floors. Love seeing the antic in the basement thank Terry for this great video.

The Edison Blue Amber Records were vocal and music recordings on cylinders instead of flat, black, and circular vinyl. They used a special phonograph to play them.
I think the round spot that Ethan called a "skeleton key hole" on the front door was where the old-fashioned door bell was.

I would have backed my vehicle up and loaded them in to take to te historical society, so they wouldn't have gone to the landfill. That is a lot of history that will be lost, such a shae.

Is there a local historical society you could contact about this place. It would be such a loss if all these things are destroyed along with the house.

This is a real nice house, so glad you did a revisit Terry, otherwise you wouldn't have seen the basement and it's contents!
