It was a sunshiny day. Secluded and hidden in the mountains of Portugal, we found this abandoned house. We had to leave the car a few miles earlier and go through a dirt road until we found the big house, totally isolated from everything.

The owner of the house was a bank employee and died in 1991 and had 8 children that were all the result of a first marriage. Concerning the size of the farm, it is obvious that he was also involved in agriculture. After becoming a widower, the man remarried. And eventually, he passed away a few years later.

The question that arises is, with so many heirs, why was the house left unloved? We assume it was because of some disagreement about the shares.
Unfortunately, it is very common in Portugal for houses to be abandoned, because the heirs at the time of the shares did not reach a consensus and time has passed, the matter was left aside and the house was forgotten ever since.

The house has not been inhabited for more than 20 years. The wooden floor was in a bad condition, with every step we took it seemed to rot away under our feet. As we entered, something indescribable happened: we encountered a big black snake and we were scared to death. However, we decided to venture into the lion’s den, and explore one of the most dangerous houses to date.

  1. I just saw the video love the landscape and amazing letter there on the timing on the video 5:40 than is from Brazil Northeast Banco do Recife and Banco do Recife Pernambuco I just saw it so quickly cuz I was last year in Brazil with my loved wife just wanted to tell you guys about it 🙏🙏👍👍

  2. Portugal only has poisonous snakes in the north part of the country in Gerês, the most dangerous are the ones that you can find swimming in the cavado river, but all of the snakes here will run if they see you other then that in terms of wildlife that is dangerous for us we have boars, wolfs(rare), the recently invasive asiatic wasp species(our biggest problem in terms of wildlife) and the man o war jellyfish in the sea wich is the most dangerous thing you can encounter in my country. Well and then there is the Madeira and the Azores islands wich have alot of species of sharks but they don t swim very close to shore. A warning for every adventurer out there that is thinking in exploring my country´s mountains and forests the two things that you must be wary off is Not getting lost and be Very careful not to Fall since the most accidents happen from people falling.

  3. Why did you lie about the amount of snakes. The percentage of the video you misrepresented is high. Btw if your going to explore somewhere dangerous wear 👖. Don't see alot of real urban explorers in shorts..

  4. These houses aren’t abandoned you twits!! This is technically tresspassing. So tired of the tourists messing with every old building they encounter. Probably was someone’s grandparents home who passed not that long ago and is awaiting modern renovation for the second or third gen like most of the old school homes.

  5. I love my old barns/homes that my ancestors have passed down to us in Portugal. Over past decade or so, alot of second and third gens have been renovating them with most of the old, vintage touches still in place. Wouldn’t get rid of them for the world.

  6. Near Viseu going North just before Aguiar da Beira, you can find a abandoned Thermal Place named Caldas da Cavaca. Many years abandoned but with some places rebuilted… a shame for such a beautiful space. Great to discover.
Another interesting place is Aquas Radium, a Thermal instalation never finished (i think) but awesome structural place with an abandoned hotal and a awesome view, nearby Sortelha coming from Belmonte…
2 Ideas to Explore… Greats from Portugal!

  7. Most snakes can feel you coming "vibration" and hide/move on before you see them. The caption on this video is misleading that house is not full of snakes wasted my time watching, it good video though 👍🏽
