  1. Good info Joric. We’re probably heading the opposite direction to most of those people. Smaller like 130 sq meter max. 2 bedroom. But we’re going to buy instead of rent and probably a smaller town vs larger city like Lisbon/Porto. Heading back in early Summer to focus more on the smaller towns and possibly buy. Working with a relocation company where the lady that owns it is from here in Portland.

  2. I wonder how real estate prices in the areas that got most of the flood damage due to the torrential rains in Lisbon, a couple of days ago, will be affected, if anything? It is obvious to me those streets where the water ran off with people's cars, you would not want to live there. I don't like to correct people, so forgive me when I say this, if you want to improve your Portuguese, whenever you see words with the letters (ei) as in Albufeira, Madeira (there are hundreds of words like these), treat the (ei) as an (a) sound in English, not as a single (i). Sorry, but I love to hear non Portuguese speakers pronounce Portuguese words perfectly.

  3. I am enjoying watching your videos from the UK. I am thinking of moving to Portugal in a couple of years time. As an avid gardener and vegetable grower, I need a decent sized garden. House size is not as big a factor as the land, so two bedrooms will suit me fine. Given my budget, and the fact that I dont want to go too far north, Coimbra seems quite attractive.
