You do have options for a place to stay. For the same cost, I would stay in a nice motel room because all the separate charges in an apartment are included in the motel room charge and you get tv, Internet and housekeeping services as amenities. The other attractive thing about it is you aren’t locked into a lease or a contract and you can leave anytime you want.

Canada may take along time to get a visa to but it may be worth it as they help you learn or improve your language skills. The social services help you prepare for and get you a good job. They have government sponsored healthcare. Vancover is next to Seattle and is not nearly as cold as the rest of the USA let alone Russia. It is damp and chilly but little snow. My one aunt lived in Seattle. The other warmer part of Canada is Halifax or the Meritine provinces. New Brunswick and Nova Scotia bit they get lots of wet snow.
