Nice video. Do you think you will ever get tired of living on a small island? That's a concern of ours and why we are currently leaning towards the mainland when we retire. We lived on Okinawa for 3 years about 30 years ago and were ready to leave island life after that. Of course, that was a different time and under different circumstances. Madeira seems wonderful.

I would consider it versus the Mainland. But I would be concerned that houses for sale on the island is going to be much more limited.

Nice, i live in Lisbon but i was born in Machico-Madeira, since 1977 i do not go visit my island, i have relatives there that i even never seen…..

I'm lucky enough to have visited Madeira 5 or 6 times over the years with my family and were actually visiting again in August. I have visited many places around the world but Madeira is my absolute dream destination. The second you step outside the plane and look up at the hills, you know you have arrived. There's nothing that I can say that you haven't already said in your video, except when I win the lottery and buy my family a house in Madeira, I'll get in touch and buy you a nice bottle of wine. By the way, when Morgan Freeman retires, Hollywood will be looking for the next big movie narrator……you may have to move back home!!!👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿

The weather in most of the US has been extremely hot so far this summer. We are heading to Madeira in 8 days, and it will be cooler there than in WI.

Very nice landscapes and cool video! I thinking to move to some islands is well. I living now in southeast part of Spain and here is pretty hot in summer, and was cold in winter without heating. So i decided to move in near future to Canary Islands, check some of them and choose the best1 for me + Spanish for me sounds much more easy than Portuguish.

'Wintering' in Madeira, say December to February, when the average daily high temperature is around 20 degrees Celsius / 68 Fahrenheit, feels like a great option.

Would love to have the contact info for your realtor. I am seriously considering a move!

Thanks for another fine Vlog for Best reasons to live in Madeira. I am surprised to hear the mild temp year round. Here in Dallas Tx. @ 10 AM Sunday Morning it is already 91 with a forecast for 103 today and last 1 week and the next week is going to be in 103-105. Can't wait to get the hell out of this FURNACE and enjoy the Madeiran Weather.

I grew up hearing about Madeira all the time from my grandmother who immigrated from there to the US. It’s so nice to see your videos as I have never been there. We’re thinking of spending time in retirement in PT, and will have to seriously consider Madeira. I’m curious on if it’s humid there at all? I see online commenters saying it’s hard to get clothes to dry in Madeira. Side note: our daughter is at Xavier Univ, so we are more literate on all things Cincinnati now including the Bengals!

Nice video! I too watch the ¨beautiful people¨ channel and saw with interest that they moved to Madeira. One helpful thing from them is a couple videos where they described shipping their household goods over in a container and their car from mainland Portugal. My wife and I expect to move make the same move and will be looking for container shipping from the mainland as well. Keep it fun!
