ABOUT HALISI AND RIC: If you’re like us, you were living your life – helping your kids through college and other endeavors, taking a vacation here and there, and strivin’. Then one day you wake up and realize 50 is staring you in the face and your savings and retirement account look piddly.
We changed the way we handled our finances and within three years our net worth went from -$22k to $800k+ and we were in a position to retire. We are currently scouting locations to retire abroad.
If you believe you might need some help in those areas, book a call with us. We will help you come up with a plan, to get your finances straight so that you can retire or maybe just…work less!

We are not financial advisors, but financial educators. The content in our courses, on our website, and on our YouTube videos are for educational purposes only and merely cites our own personal opinions. In order to make the best financial decision that suits your needs, you must conduct your own research and seek the advice of a licensed financial advisor if necessary.

  1. Hi Halisi! I'm waiting for my passport to be renewed. Hope Ric is doing well now. I want to visit Portugal and see how beautiful it is. My husband refuses to leave the States. UGHH!!! So, I will travel without him. Tired of the crime and politics here. 😒😒

  2. Love your videos: insightful. I too plan on living abroad; me and my 11 yr old son. We homeschool and we narrowed it down to Portugal, U.k, and France. But our hearts are in France: the culture, language, etc… (long-stay visas), though we still plan to travel all around Europe. Can hardly wait!

  3. Hi Halisi and Ric, I hope you feel better soon! I ❤ the grilled octopus “hotdog” (the sign says hot dog but it’s just grilled octopus on a bun) at the Time Out Market and I recommend trying the bacalhau a brás at the restaurant a few spaces to the right and perpendicular to the octopus one. Halisi, it just might change your mind about seafood😀

  4. About food: did you try fried turkey steaks? grilled pork ribs? fried pork chops? grilled veal cutlet? cod (bacalhau) in the oven? etc etc They will not be looking at you, so…. forget the chicken for some time even if you do very good chicken breasts, or chicken legs, or chicken wings, or chicken something else. Sardines… well Ric, I am from Lisboa but 'sardinhas' I do not touch. Instead 'carapau' I love, specially the small ones fried, along with 'tomato rice' (rice done with tomato and seasoned with coriander leaves)…

  5. Missed your LIVE but catching it now. Portugal was amazing. We enjoyed Lisboa, Sintra, and Cascais. Looking forward to coming back soon. Keep the amazing videos coming. Agape! Sam and Kayla from Texas

  6. I think our republic is in trouble…..I have a small glimmer of hope with this last election that the USA will remain a republic…..but not enough that I am sure that we will stay a republic. We can also afford to retire at 58 and 55 because of the healthcare costs in Portugal and just live on pension and savings….we are scouting in the spring and planning on moving in the summer if we like Portugal as much as we think we will. Thanks for your perspective…..as a white person, I agree with everything you are saying as far as the USA goes race wise. The last 7 years have really opened my eyes as to just how racist and also hateful to LGBTQ folks this country is…..I always knew it was, but just to the extent that it was, I never fully realized fully until the last several years…..which is another reason we are leaving. We have no time for hatefulness in any capacity. I think I am just so disappointed with the people of the USA, that it is time to go. I am not going to PT with some notion that all problems will disappear….but it seems like it has to be better than the US.

  7. For me, the gaslighting was in the form of being in a work meeting, making a suggestion that is met with SILENCE or 'no, it won't work' then when another person says the exact same thing, it's suddenly a brilliant idea. Infuriating and if you call it out you're called angry or not a team player.

  8. I kinda like this set up with you guys in seperate rooms. It's almost like an interview 😄. Im fairly new to your channel and I am seriously considering moving to Portugal. I plan to visit next year. I've learned a lot from your channel so far!

  9. Hi Halisi and Ric. Hope covid goes from you at high speed! I know the feeling as I was 'blessed' too some time ago. About cost of living: yesterday we got the official statistics about inflation. From OCT21 to OCT22 we had 10,3% if considered all the categories. EU had higher inflation if considered all euro countries. The reason is the energy costs due to the Ucraine war.

  10. Hello Ric and Halisi. I appreciate you all’s feedback on Portugal. I am an AA, in my mid 50’s, and am interested in visiting with my family. Do you all have a link with travel information package that you can share? If so, please post it. I hope we can visit in 2023! Thank you.
