Marc Marquez’s return at the Misano test, the remaining pieces in the 2023 rider puzzle, a future race in Saudi Arabia and a look ahead to Aragon all feature on this week’s Crash.net MotoGP podcast with Keith Huewen.
Absent from MotoGP since Mugello in May due to the latest operation on his right arm, Marquez returned to an RCV at the Misano test, finishing just 0.5s from the top.
But having barely started gym work, Marquez is far from fully fit and a decision on whether or not he will race at Aragon this weekend is due to be made at any moment.
“I rang Mike Trimby at IRTA just before we came on air,” said former Grand Prix rider and British Champion Keith Huewen.
“Mike said that [Honda team manager] Alberto Puig would tell IRTA if they were going to put Marc Marquez in this weekend, after the Misano test.

The Saudi thing is all about money, they're all about trying to buy respectability.
Can you guys confirm Darryn Binder DB40 has been signed for Moto2 Liqui-Moly IntactGP in place of MS23?
The Ducs are like the R1200GS.
The Ducs from last year will be still super competitive. And even if some new aeros are coming, they can give it to the riders with older bikes. Like Enea.
Like the BMW, even with a 10 year old GS, there are some recent adventure bikes that could not keep up with it😅🤷♂️
MOTO GP in CANADA !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
1st – maverick
2nd – pecco
3rd – aleix
For sure Luca to VR46 but going in the future will he be a permanent fixture in the team and just rotate teammates despite results? Seems eventually the breakfast table may get awkward.
I would be massively disappointed with Dorna and Espoletta if they do decide to go to Saudi. I'm with Keith on this one, 100%. Qatar shouldn't have anything to do with it. The Qataris funded Isis, so MotoGP has no place there, but two wrongs don't make a right.
Give us another USA round!
Saudi is a great country it a shame you speak about a country you never visited and have an opinion from media. An speaking about human rights look at england with refugee reforms what a shame so keep silent speak about your country human rights not others
1.Bagnaia
2.Marquez
3.Bastianini
Maverick will be no1 at Aprilia next year weather Aleix likes it or not
Keith, I so agree with you about Saudi Arabia, and no I don't think we should look from the inside out. We don't have to step in to the poop to know that it stinks and that it's nasty! And I don't watch the F1 race over there either, but we live in a sale out world!
The top three will be Maverick 1, Pecco 2 and RIns 3
No superbikes chat ??? 😢
Yes Yes Yes Kyalami South Africa all the way ( but not to pander to a grossly corrupt government either ) if DORNA are just after $ then they'll go to Suadi Arabia if they want to grow the motorcycle market then South Africa or US 👍😁
What the hell is Dorna thinking regarding Saudi Arabia??? Absolutely cheering for Africa to get an opportunity to host the best sport on this planet, yeeeeeew 🤙
MotoGP back in South Africa? Take my money. Would be an epic weekend. I definitely think there is a big enough following around here to make it worth while, and with 2 South Africans (for now) on the grid, the support is huge. I hope it makes it onto the calender in the near future.
Can't believe you blokes said nowt about the WSBK fiasco at the weekend. Racing with a damaged bike, getting between the points scorers and being a lap down, no black flag …and the next day, intentionally barging the points leader off the track followed by a measly long lap penalty. All above issues seen this year in the Moto GP paddock. Why aren't the FIM dealing with these inconsistencies across the sport? I think you blokes should do a WSBK segment. Especially when there's no MotoGP race the same weekend. 1 hour 15 minute show a couple of weeks back was a goodun. Bet everyone will be happy to listen if the show tipped over the hour.
My biggest dream is Spa !, why not? Its fim ready now and it would be the biggest scoop in motogp history – if f1 stops going there
1. Bagnaia 2. Vinales 3. Bastianini
Motogp should go to Russia , Vietnam, Philippines 😁
Modern sports like motogp n f1 are business and Saudi Arabia is the where the big money guys …. if human rights to be accounted then France too should be out coz France govt violates the Islamic rights
My take on Aragon is 1st :Bstianini 2nd: Bezzecchi 3rd : Quartararo 😂😂
Saudi, really? As said no motorcycle interest in the country. Its all about getting Saudi on the world stage. Same goes for Qatar. Build a track in the desert then surprise, its too hot during the day so go at night. Then the one time it actually rained the race was postponed because of the glare on the wet track and nobody could see where they were going. Let's keep Moto gp where it belongs, with the fans and where there is genuine interest in bike racing.
Seemed to spend a lot of time not talking about other things than racing
A race in India is a no brainer to me.
Take two races away from Spain.
You forget that DB40 was the second fastest bike through the speed trap in the race at Mugello earlier this year (358.8 km/hr).
New Zealand would love MotoGP !!!
Is there in potential to having a Moto GP in India?
A big NO to Saudi Arabia – but Kyalami would be good.
i think we should have 2 rounds in the UK
In a blazing inferno outside the MotoGP race at Portimo Circuit in Portugal, a police officer died and a brave journalist saved the life of another reporter. The incident occurred on Saturday night when a police motorcycle and a taxi collided in front of each other, causing both vehicles to burst into flames.
In the incident, police officer Joo Fernandes died, while journalist Lucio Lopez, who was in the taxi at the time of the crash, was rescued from the flames by Simon Patterson. November 7, 2021
Yo harry that prediction bold but it would be good. Realistic Pecco, Enea, Vinales.
Great episode, everyone. Enjoying the stories from around the paddock and the previous years' races.
The following verses are cases in point: Quran (9:29): “Fight against Christians and Jews until they pay the tribute readily, being brought low.” Quran (5:51): “Don't take Jews or Christians for friends. If you do, then Allah will consider you to be one of them.
Clearly why would you put a motogp event in a country that's not accept human rights and hates Christianity
Our values are measured with money now, Quite sad.
A 2nd USA race. Mverick, Peco, Enea.
Buddh circuit in India would make good one on the calendar. Situated close to one of the most populated city on earth with loads of motorbike enthusiasts & fans around. Besides we Indians need more ways of entertainment then just cricket.
What talking
Awesome as always! Love the show! #1- Bastininni
#2- Fabio
#3- Vinales
Just hope it's an exciting race!
Kieth, man of world,
Been there done that. And Knows.
Pete, your last name preseads you.
You sir are a coward. Ya gonna go there??
Top 3 in Aragon…. mmm
1st Bastiani 2nd Miller 3rd Marquez!!
If we are going to go after the Saudis (which I have no love for), over morals… then we all need to remove all our clothing right now, and get rid of 3/4 of your things, cause it's all made in China.
