  1. Hello Mandy and Lee. Thank you for the informative video. I am thinking of moving to either Sintra or Cascais, but some youtubers mention that these 2 places are expensive. Do you agree with them?

  2. Thanks for showing a side of Cascais I haven’t seen anywhere else before. It’s so nice to see budget options, especially the wonderful markets! Definitely places I’d love to check out and I’m sure many others would too. I so enjoyed watching this video! ☺️

  3. Wow wow wow. What a beautiful city! The streets look so colourful! I was born in Cuxhaven which is located in North Germany. After World War II many Southern migrants emigrated to Cuxhaven for working in fish industry. Thousands of Portuguese and Spaniards came here. They had brought theirs local architecture to Cuxhaven
Some districts look like that town! New subscriber here and I hope we stay in touch!

  4. Another great video of Cascais! We are looking forward to checking out 1 euro dishes at 100 Montaditos. I like Mandy orange’s sweater and beautiful scarfs, what a bargain,1 euro each! The view from the rooftop of Cascais Villa is great and the meals from the food court look good. Thank you for sharing places to see and tips. WOW! Lee stood on his head after the meal and wine, I wonder how long he stood like that. LOL

  5. Hi,
I have just returned from a week in Sicily, like Cascais a potentially bank breaking location. How did it go for me?

Obviously, travelling frugally is about making choices and part of the reason I spent so little in Bucharest the week before was to boost my food budget for Sicily.

Flight was £45 return from London, Stansted. This allowed a full final day before flying home direct but also meant a 7 hour layover at Perugia.

It sounded tough but after being stamped into Perugia I exited the tiny airport and took a 40 minute hike through glorious Umbrian countryside to enjoy a delicious meal at a local trattoria. £13 but kept me going for the rest of the day. Tasting local truffle on my pasta.. delicious.

Hostel in Palermo.. ladies dorm room…£74 for 5 nights. Much more expensive than Romania but it was my favourite ever hostel for welcome, facilities and location.

Then my food budget of £20 per day. Coupled with my desire to try the Sicilian cuisine as much as possible. And I did..pasta alla Norma, canaletto, arancini, Lemon gelato, triplo panini..I sought out street food at the market…oh my the battered crab, ate fruit and a simple restaurant or cafe meal each day.
It is possible to go on a budget to expensive cities…£260 for flights, accomodation, food and extras.

Off again in a couple of weeks to Kosovo… country 94. 🇽🇰😃

  6. 8:22 i dislike when they say small, medium and large beer, but does not say how many mililiters are each. I only have to assume 0.25, 0.33 and 0.5, but wouod not buy without asking

  7. Looking for a scarf is quite funny. My wife has been on a three month expedition to find new shoes. She finally settled on a shop in Figueira near the train station. I wish I could explain how many malls I have walked through and I am thankful these will be comfortable shoes to walk on the calcadas.

  8. Wow! I've been to Cascais a couple of times and wrote it off. Thanks for the info. My wife and I in Figueira da Foz for April and are finding it very affordable. Thank you so much for your efforts, they are very welcome.l

  9. Another fantastic and useful video from Cascais. 🎉 We have a lot to see on our next visit. As others noted, the orange cardigan looks good on Mandy👍🏻. It’s my son’s favorite color. 🧡 Also appreciate the smooth feeling of wool . Sad to say I purchased a beautiful sweater in New Zealand many years ago but never wore it since I find it to be too itchy. 😢 Two questions please: 1) the market didn’t have a price for the red raspberries. When I looked at Pingo Doce in Tavira last November; they were very expensive and imported from Argentina (if my memory serves me correctly). Have you found the price of berries to vary by season? 2) you noted you go to market stalls w/prices. Is one expected to bargain at the stalls without prices? I prefer not to negotiate but was curious. 🤔 Thanks as always for your wonderful work.

  10. Hi Mandy & Lee- you hit a home run with your Cascais videos. I watched them a few times each and took notes cause we’re going there in a couple weeks. Great job! We will be checking out some of the menus do dia for sure! And I want that purple scarf! Good choice! Looks good on you, Mandy.

  11. WOW guys, awesome video. I loved the view from the top of the food court, another place to add to my list.

OMG never been to any of the markets in Caiscais! Have been to several in Lisbon, I love Feira da Ladra (Thieves Market) near the big church and the Thursday market at Carcavelos, but the Caiscais looks really good. My kind of market – excess luggage here I come. Mandy – orange looks great on you!
