First day of Camino de Santiago | No idea what I’m doing

This video is about my first (scary) day of Camino de Santiago. I’m not sure why but I felt very anxious and nervous in the beginning. I really had no idea what I was doing. I started walking from Porto, Portugal and going to Santiago de Compastela, in the north-west of Spain. The route I’m doing is Coastal Portuguese Camino. The whole route is about 300 kilometers (186 miles) and this is my very first long hike. Wish me luck!

P.S. I am aware this video has a couple of glitches. Believe me, I tried everything to fix them but Adobe is not always perfect. I edited this video in my phone in a tiny village of northern Portugal. The internet and phone capacities aren’t perfect so you have to forgive me for this imperfect video. I know you’ll understand 🥰 few pixels in wrong places don’t really matter, I hope.

  2. Loved your first day. This will be my camino in late August and I'm feeling excited but know I will also be anxious when the day finally comes. Did you train leading up to your camino by long walks at home?

  3. I did the Caminio across from France in 2015. It was the best but hard. I have short legs so it took me 56 days to do 800 km. But the comradeship and help I received along the way was magical. Try not to make mistakes, but they will come. Take them as part of the adventure, it is part of living. Most important get back in touch with your senses.
    Buen Caminio.

  4. I'm glad your anxiety is going. I've been dreaming of doing the camino for years now but life keeps getting in the way. Hopefully soon. I'll be following your travels and look forward to more videos. Good job.

  5. So impressed with your photography. I have watched many Camino vlogs and yours is very nicely done. Are you a film student or a graphic artist? Thank you, and Buen Camino.

  6. Very well done! Loved the flowers, the narration and your smiles:) My daughter is starting Camino Frances next week- you remind me a lot of her:) best of luck and we will follow your journey !

  7. ჩემი ოცნება, რომელიც ჯერ კიდევ ვერ შევისრულე. წარმატება და მშვიდობიანი გზა ❤❤❤🥳🥳🥳💥💥

  8. The road in the end taking the path the sun had taken,
    into the western sea, and the moon rising behind you
    as you stood where ground turned to ocean: no way
    to your future now but the way your shadow could take,
    walking before you across water, going where shadows go,
    no way to make sense of a world that wouldn’t let you pass
    except to call an end to the way you had come,
    to take out each frayed letter you had brought
    and light their illumined corners; and to read
    them as they drifted on the western light;
    to empty your bags; to sort this and to leave that;
    to promise what you needed to promise all along,
    and to abandon the shoes that had brought you here
    right at the water’s edge, not because you had given up
    but because now, you would find a different way to tread,
    and because, through it all, part of you would still walk on,
    no matter how, over the waves.

    Finisterre by David Whyte.

    He dedicated this poem to his daughter who took the Finisterre route 😃

    I wish you all the blessings on your walk to the future ❤️
