Agree Stu the UK press wants to make sure UK citizens do not equate the changes to Brexit. When I vacationed in Spain they asked for my return ticket and hotel reservation credit card and showed debit card also. It seemed like random selection, since the person in front of me did not have to provide.
UK is now a classed as a third Country to EU, because its outside the area, The people who voted for this would have know this before voting on this important issue !!!! right,
You're wrong Stuart. This new contribution system for the self-employed consists of a progressive quota model that will be rolled out over three years, between 2023 and 2025, in which the self-employed with less income will lower their quota, while it will be increased for who earn more. Its entry into force will take place on January 1, 2023 with a minimum fee of ¡230 euros! (less than now) and a maximum of 500.
They will be able to change tranche up to six times a year (every two months) depending on their forecast, upwards or downwards, of the behavior of their businesses. In this way, at the end of each year the self-employed person will have to regularize their contributions to the Administration.
The new "flat" rate will be 80 euros during the first 12 months of activity, regardless of the income of the self-employed worker. And in the following 12 months the self-employed person will continue to pay the 80 euros monthly fee as long as his income is below the minimum wage.
Lobster are brilliant, been with them for 3 years ,they keep uping the contents of your contact to stay in front, also you can phone unlimited to UK and I believe other European countries
there will be an exodus of self employed people from all these western socialist marxist countries where the working person gets squeezed out of their taxes to support the rest of the population that isn't working. When not working gets rewarded as much as working this whole system will implode on itself. People can either stay and get extorted or leave to better pastures where governments are not as rigorous
Why why why you name all the people coming in. Please dont…. its so very boring. We want news n comments not a list of names places. So tedious…like the channel but this thing irks me and im not the first to comment on that. Lots o people might just..go away…is waste of time.
Hi Stu, greetings from Palm Springs, California. I fly to Spain every summer for 2-3 months and I’ve never been asked about my finances. In fact, until you mentioned it, I didn’t know such a rule existed. Love your show and keep Mia cool!
Stu- I’m on a road trip today Lisbon to Huelva tp a beach resort outside town. Have to see a notary in Friday. In the way back will stay in Algarve so 5 nights near the sea in air conditioned rooms thank God!
For you to be accepted into the UK as of now you need to show that you have £3.90 Yes Three Pound & Ninety Pence. Hope this helps Stu & keep up the good work
Here is an interesting idea pop out of my head you can do a video on what is the most popular tv channel in Spain and on a similar topic on the local tv stations on the 17 automous communities in Spain. What channels do you watch Stewart . Keep up the great work
I continue to be amazed that the British seem to fail to realize that their desire to become independent to the EU comes with impacts such as they are NOT part of the EU for travel (long lines at the Chunnel) and they can’t believe the rules have changed and can’t be grandfathered in to the old rules (drivers licenses). Elections have consequences.
As you say Stuart, these articles are scare tactics by a certain section of the British press, Express, etc,. I say to anyone thinking of visiting Spain, Portugal, etc, ignore these reports. Yes, the rules are there as we are out of the EU and now considered a third country, but they are random checks and in a minority, so you have to be very unlucky to be stopped by the authorities.
Hi Stu (Beth from Cartagena here) Lobster is very good. Currently pay 12€ a month for 18GB download. Unlimited calls and texts in Spain and to the UK and other (listed) countries.
Fact… Both Australia and the United Kingdom allow Dual Nationality. This means that a person can hold nationality (and the passport) of both countries…. Tony cuenca
Sound and vision quality very good Stuart. Well done as usual. The regulations on money from countries classed as 3rd countries has been in place for many years. It’s the British press plays on this sort of thing all the time. Most of it not quite as it seems. Spain the bad guys? Not quite
These rules and regulations have been in place since 2007.. it is not the Spanish Government that have started this hype it's the media that has started it.. It only applys to people who are visiting friends, if you stay in a hotel or apartment it doesn't apply to you. The idea was to stop illegal immigrants, what a joke! I have 2 friends coming out in September and I am supposed to ( if you believe the press) get them a Carte de Invitacion which should cost me 160.96€ I haven't heard of anybody yet being asked for this rubbish! I am sure that the holiday sector has been through enough by now! fingers crossed anyway..
What if we are renting privately,do we have to prove where we are staying
There was a special relationship between the UK and Australia until the day the UK joined the EU.
I had to do it in Fiji too
I am from the U S so use to it
