Despite early rumors that hinted at a possible R-rating, Matt Reeve’s “The Batman” is arriving in movie theaters with the expected PG-13 rating. But while the film has been cleared for audiences 13 and above, that doesn’t mean that the movie doesn’t delve into some extraordinarily dark places. Paul Dano’s Riddler in particular is closer to the zodiac killer than the goofy, riddle-loving jokester of the animated series. And while the Riddler does some pretty unsavory things to various Gothamites in the new film, one scene in particular has left audiences feeling squemish. This is the Riddler scene in “The Batman” that went too far.

What were your thoughts on this scene?
Nothing went too far stop crying ffs
They didn’t burrow into him. The point was that they ate his face. That’s why the riddler makes comments about how they are going to eat his face. Also that’s why the maze was on his head. I don’t know how you could make this video without even knowing what you’re talking about.
Dark knight was WAY BETTER if ur reading this. Both are good at the least tho
I'm a batman fan but I wasn't a fan of the movie..6 out of 10..just my opinion but I wouldn't recommend
This movie is so good
stfu “it went too far waaa 😢”
the opening scene gave me chills and I loved it!
I remember actually laughing at the Dark Knight 'LOOK AT ME' Joker scene.
I kept thinking he deserved it. 😏 🤡🦇
What they did with the Riddler in this movie was sick. We're used to the riddler wearing a green suit and top hat and constantly cracking riddles, but here he's more sadistic and scary.
id like to say the fans who said it went to far are pussios innit
My thoughts on this movie. The story is awesome, but the actors are jokes.
Didnt they do the rat thing in fast and the furious 2?
Shut up
Dark night for me
No that's not it. I told you 40 times what it was. Why won't you listen??!! Why are you so insolent?? It's EXACTLY what I told you it was. Don't say that to me. If you say that, it's the end. Don't say it. I BEG you not to bring this on yourself. THERE! THAT'S IT!!!!!!!!!!! YOU'VE DONE IT!!!!!!!!!!!! It wasn't me. It wasn't me. YOU are the one that brought this on. OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.
it was supposed to be disturbing not attractive
not gonna lie riddler in this movie was a menace and I loved it
I loved Paul Dano as Dwayne in Little Miss Sunshine. Can’t wait to see this flick when I get the chance
I thought it was brilliant. No scenes went too far, I think the gruesomeness is fitting for a city of this criminal magnitude. It’s realistic when referring to serial killers.
Also, rat torture has been used for centuries. They would place a pot above starving rats, heat it up, and force the rats to burrow through any part of the body, such as the stomach. It could’ve been FARRRR more gruesome. This is still terrifying and horrid as hell, but it’s still not “too far” in my opinion.
Batman and DC itself is coming it's new era, the Dark path… Joker was it's first thing, they showed us the modernity how you can be ignored, laughed at. DC will be doing those movies, and it's good.
The scene did not go too far. The whole movie is basically perfect. Marvel franchise should take a lot of notes from this movie.
Best Batman ever
Jim Carrey was the only good actor in that batman movie.
This movie was just a surprising film
This did give big “seven” vibes
Bro my mom watched it with me with no warning and the beginning 👁👄👁
the riddler seems like the jigsaw of the dc universe
Yoooo Looper,,,,meta much?
Hey inbox me if you saw the Easter Egg or wanna know what it is Might cost you a little might cost you a lot but it's gonna cost you
The rat one was baad
It’s a movie stop taking it so seriously lol nothing went too far
For me it was the rat trap maze that would have had them eat the girl's face and eyes 🤢 that was just a bit too much for me tbh
we relly should figure out what to call this universe
Honestly I have no desire to see it. Clearly it is a different era and many people are perfectly happy with this level of violence (ps why wasn't it rated R?) however being horrified after the 2nd Christopher Nolan version, I knew this one would be awful. No one wants a Joel Schumacher or Tim Burton take anymore which is even a more depressing thought than any current Batman plotline
I don't think they went far enough. The violence and brutality of the Riddler felt scary and unnerving, but limited. What this movie honestly needed was no limitations. Go for the R rating all the way.
Man I've been trying to find a clip of riddler going like "NO NO NO NO" it honestly was pretty funny lmao
Shit Cory😂😂
Nothing about that scene was "scary"…have you seen 7EVEN?
If this is how terrifying the riddler is then I can’t imagine how terrifying the joker and scarecrow would be.
When will people learn Batman’s villains are meant to be this evil and gruesome🤦🏽
The new Riddler: is a serial killer, has a tragic backstory
Tumblr girls: "Another sadboi to gush over."
This is the Best Batman movie I’ve ever seen.
So the he used the good ol Fast N Furious Rat in the bucket technique.. thats it?
I got to see this movie though! 🖤
I got to see this movie all I know in this same DC verse, Joaquin Phoenixs Joker is my favorite Joker Ever & the movie Joker was the best, Joker is my favorite DC movie ever! 🖤🔥🔥
The opening was confusing I thought riddler was Killin Thomas Wayne since most batman movies started with his parents death
Your going to love when they show what happened to Jason Todd in a future Batman movie
I just y'all's just got weak stomachs man up it's just a movie
