Michelle and her brother added plenty of sweat equity while renovating this surprisingly spacious and light-filled garage apartment in Bryan, TX, and the finished product is absolutely stunning. With a budget of less than $5,000, this sibling reno team totally transformed the space using salvaged pieces, DIYs, and curated furnishings. The most recent addition includes a gorgeous 200 sq ft patio space, making Michelle’s home perfect for entertaining guests as well as quiet nights at home.

  1. I love this, it's so neat! I love the sleeping nook also but I would have to have my mattress up off the floor..even if I had to build my own platform. I would love some type of wall shelf in there also but I guess you could always use a tray. Just lovely 💗💗💗

  2. I wish you lived in Washington State!! I design tiny homes and micro apartments. I end up helping with the interior design too as many people need help with the smaller spaces. You did a perfect job on your own home!! Setting zones is so important with limited space. You and your home are just beautiful!! Congrats!! xoxo

  3. She's too sophisticated to find value in the Bachelorette, but she'll spend the precious time of her short life watching it anyway. Bonding with other females over snarky comments pertaining to others was brought up in some Big Bang Theory episodes.

  4. Every city/county REQUIRES a certification to LEGALLY do this !!!!!!!..Licensing is required. If a city/ county official discovers such an operation…….property owner would be censored

  5. Love the space….although small, it doesn't feel that way. When you live in a small home, having an outdoor space is EVERYTHING. We do most of our entertaining outside. I love the bathroom that you did. The sleeping space is a little bit too "cozy" for me as I love to sleep with my windows open and fresh air, but aside from that, I could definitely move in and feel right at home. Also, the quote by Mary Oliver that you have framed is one of my favorites and the only quote I also have displayed in my home.

  6. I love the sleeping nook! When we all shifted to work from home, I switched my tiny home office (where I used to work from home once a month or so) to my bedroom and moved my bedroom into the home office space, which basically only is large enough for my bed and one table. Works very well, and it's so cozy.

  7. I love apartment therapy it just makes me dream about the tiny place I’ll have one day. I love how they make small spaces look amazing. I don’t have a ton of stuff so this is what I wish to have one day. I can’t now, but one day.
